What are the stages of a villa or palace order?
A made-to-order commission moves through six stages. Each has a clear output, so a villa or palace owner knows exactly what has been decided before the next stage begins and no material is committed early.
2. Drawings
Modenese Gastone draws each piece to the wall, the ceiling and the sightlines. The buyer approves proportions and dimensions before any material is cut.
3. Samples
Lacquer colour, gilding level, marble and upholstery are shown as samples. Approval here fixes the finish across the whole set, from a Leon D'Oro cabinet to its seating.
4. Carving and gilding
Solid walnut, cherry or mahogany is carved by hand; 24k gold leaf is laid over gesso and sealed. Painting, aging or beeswax finishing follows to the approved reference.
5. Packing
Finished pieces are crated for export, protected for the destination route and documented for shipping to the villa or palace site.
6. Installation
